It’s not like this photo has the best composition, but I LOVE it because it so beautifully depicts the agony, the frustration, and the total unknown that is…
(Yes, it has a fancy name and everything).
Look at the furrowed brow! Acknowledge the lady to the left, trying in vain to offer some advice about this gentleman’s floral placement predicament!
We have seen this exact scene over and over again. It’s the one skill that life never teaches you. And it’s only when you’re right in the thick of things, on the most important day of your life, that you realise how ill-equipped you are to deal with the complexity of it all!
So what’s the trick?! Well, it’s quite simple –
Pin horizontally, rather than vertically.
I realised I’d been doing it the wrong way for our grooms for over a year until a florist set me straight a couple of months ago. My way was SO hard, but I pushed through the hard times and got a pretty fab technique going eventually. Grooms thought I was amazing. Mothers of the groom were like “THANK GOD FOR YOU!!! YOU’VE SAVED THE DAY!!!”. I was like the boutonniere whisperer.
Only I was wrong. So wrong.
