The thing I love about weddings that take me out of Melbourne is that you get to squeeze in a little sightseeing along the way. And today’s wedding saw the Lighthouse from the TV show, “Round the Twist” making it into my itinerary. 90’s flashbacks, eat your heart out!
It was a perfect day for Victoria + Gerald’s wedding at the fantastic Kilolo house in Lorne. This Balinese style home (which I was told very quickly had hosted Johnny Depp at one stage!) is set on a death defyingly steep hill overlooking the ocean and was the setting for a wildly colourful afternoon. While guests relaxed in the gardens under the shade of parasols provided by the couple and sipped on lemon and cucumber water, they wrote notes of love and support which were attached to individual red balloons and released after the couples’ first kiss. It was an amazing site to see them float and scatter, sending positivity up, up and away.
The rest of the afternoon was enjoyed up in the house, with guests sipping punch on the deck, dancing in the communal kitchen while dinner was being cooked and breathing in that sea air. What more could you want?
